Come Observe Anytime!

Start Together:  Children begin lessons in a group, usually with a parent.  We begin with upbeat rhythm and singing games.  Children get to know me as we explore sound.  In class we use stories, movement, call and response and of course, songs.  Children and parents will have recordings to listen to at home.

Start With a Vision: This program is designed start children on the road to musical excellence. Foundations of music theory such as note reading, rhythm reading and pitch are thoroughly covered.  My vision is to give students the gift of skills which will enable them to express themselves through music during their whole life.

Start with Desire:  25 years of teaching has taught me that the development of confidence through excellence is my greatest ally.  The child who can skip, whistle, ride a bike or play chop sticks wants to do it over and over!  We want this!  I call it desire development. The child chooses an instrument when the musical basics of confidence, pitch, singing, rhythm, notation and attention development are rooted.

Start on Violin, Cello or Piano: Once your child and you are ready, we choose an instrument.  At this point the group lessons will change somewhat.  I work together to teach the parent and child about developing home practice.  Congratulations, our musical journey has begun!

Start Now:  First Steps in music means that neither the parent nor the child (4+yrs) is expected to know anything about music, instruments, how to practice or what instrument you want to play!
